A healthcare organization in Richland, WA, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a background in cardiovascular or vascular surgery for a locum tenens assignment. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with regular clinic hours and required monthly call coverage. Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in vascular surgery and advanced patient care skills.

  • Position: Full-time locum tenens in cardiovascular/vascular surgery
  • Start Date: February 1, 2025
  • End Date: August 1, 2025
  • Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (4/10s)
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 8-12 patients per day
  • Call Requirement: 24-hour call coverage for 7 days per month
  • Holiday Closure: Closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • Compensation: $105 - $120 per hour, based on experience

Travel and Lodging for Non-Local Providers:

  • Flight: Assistance provided for round-trip within the Continental US
  • Lodging: $200 per night (includes taxes and fees; pre-approval required for Airbnb)
  • Car Rental: $75/day cap
  • Mileage: Reimbursement for travel over 50 miles (MapQuest verification required)

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings for vascular surgery patients
Conduct assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
Manage preoperative and postoperative care in collaboration with the surgical team
Participate in on-call duties, addressing vascular surgery needs during assigned 24-hour call periods
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records within Epic EMR
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records using the Epic EMR system

Qualifications

Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Washington
Strong background in at minimum vascular surgery and preferably cardiovascular surgery as well
Certification in advanced practice nursing or physician assistant studies with a specialization in surgery or cardiovascular care
BLS and ACLS certifications required

Working Hours

Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (4/10s)
Call Requirement: 24-hour call coverage for 7 days per month
