ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Neurosurgery and Spine Center are seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join their practice in Greenville, North Carolina. ECU Health’s Neurosurgery team consists of 11 neurosurgeons and 10 advanced practice providers. The successful candidate will provide inpatient care at ECU Health Medical Center, a 974-bed level 1 trauma facility, regional leader for Neurosciences, and eastern North Carolina’s only Comprehensive Stroke Center. New graduates will be considered. Experience candidates are preferred.
Nationally recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as a top 100 program for neurosurgery ECU Health’s Neuroscience Program uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide a range of services to include diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. The hospital has specialty-trained staff in nursing, neurology, general neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, vascular and endovascular neurosurgery, complex spine surgery, neuroradiology (including 24/7 in-house neuroradiology coverage), neuro-critical care and neuro-oncology. The Neuroscience team takes great pride in their patient- and family-centered approach to care, which promotes optimization of patient outcomes.

- 7 on / 7 off schedule, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, Monday-Sunday
- Inpatient clinical responsibilities will include consults, first call, rounding, pulling of drains, placement of EVDs, admissions and discharges
- Established clinical neuroscience team of 10 neurosurgeons, including dual-trained cerebrovascular specialists and 20 + neurologists including an interventional neurologist, 4 vascular neurologists, 4 neurointensivists, 13 subspecialty neurologists, and a large team of inpatient and outpatient advance practice providers
- ECU Health Medical Center is home to a newly expanded 24-bed NSICU as well as a large rehab center providing both inpatient and outpatient support to neurology patients
- Dedicated team of NSICU NP/PA’s providing 24/7 coverage
- Strong investment in technology including Gamma Knife, NeuroBlate, and RAPID
- Over 1,100 neurosurgical cases performed annually to include complex spine, cerebrovascular surgery and brain tumor resections
- Over 1,500 annual admissions with stroke as primary diagnosis
- Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association
