Job Summary:

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join Florida Heart and Lung Institute and their growing cardiac surgery team in the CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit).

Qualified Candidates:
  • Work with an experienced team of 15 providers – 3 cardiothoracic surgeons and 12 APPs
  • Under the supervision of the cardiothoracic surgeons, the incoming APP will care for patients in the CVICU ranging from CABG and valve replacement / repairs including TAVR to ECMO and aortic aneurysm repairs.
  • Perform bedside procedures within scope of service, write progress notes, participate in daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes and participate in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and ensure continuity of care
  • 12 hour shifts; 14 shifts per month
  • New grads welcome
  • Ideal candidate would have previous experience with managing cardiothoracic surgery or cardiac patients, ICU experience and working experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
  • Nurse practitioners must be certified in acute care
