The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium seeks a general surgery NP or PA to join our growing team of 12 general surgeons and eight advanced practice professionals at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska. As a Level II Trauma Center, ANMC serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state. With over 30 specialties, we provide a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. Our unique patient population, breathtaking geography and cohesive team make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!

In this role you will work independently seeing pre- and post-op adult patients in the Surgery Clinic. You will be performing pre-operative surgical evaluations and potentially minor procedures.

Work Schedule: Four 10-hour days; Sunday- Wednesday, 6 a.m.- 4 p.m. No evenings and no on call. Weekend coverage on Saturdays is distributed among all the APPs.

Required Qualifications: Certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by an approved national certifying body; Drug Enforcement Administration Certification; State of Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse or PA License. Experience as an RN managing patients in a general surgery clinic; astute clinical skills; superior communication and relationship building skills; flexible team player; culturally sensitive.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a nurse practitioner, physician assistant or RN managing patients in a general surgery Setting; experience caring for a Native patient population.
