North Memorial Health is seeking a Locum NP/ PA for Trauma Surgery!
  • Dates of Coverage: Aug-Nov
  • Practice Setting: Primarily function as trauma hospitalist rounder. May have some intermittent ED consult, trauma activations, procedures work. For those with surgical and trauma critical care experience may have needs for this.
  • Call Ratio: no call - in house only
  • Average Number of Patients Per Day: 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non-ICU, 6 if ICU, admitting/ED can be 2-15 per 24h
  • Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
  • Trauma Level/Designation: Level I adult that cares for Pediatrics
  • Will APP be Working Autonomously? Yes
  • Supervising Physician Present During Assignment?: Staffed with Trauma Surgeon 24-hour per day
  • Specialty Back-Up is Available (If Needed) for Procedures Noted: Trauma Surgeon
  • Patient Age Demographic: 0-100+, but primarily adult and adolescent.

  • Ventilation Management
  • Chest Tube Insertion
  • Central Line
  • Arterial Line
  • Suturing Minor Lacerations

Job Responsibilities

Responding to the ED for Trauma Alerts
Facilitating Discharges
ER Admissions
Daily rounding and management of all conditions- we do not use hospitalists.  need to be fully able to be attending on all patient conditions

Qualifications

Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C) - Required
MN License - Required
ATLS, PALS, ACLS - Required
DEA
