Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) is a licensed and credentialed advanced practice registered nurse who provides comprehensive psychiatric care to the assigned patient population. The Psych NP works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders. This work will be performed in the Southern Colorado area.

Summit Medical Consultants is a rapidly growing Physician Practice. Established in 2015, we are a physician-founded and led medical group. We have expanded to approximately 100 employees and are continuing to grow. Our mission is to provide patients and their families with robust clinical services throughout their Acute Inpatient Rehab, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care and Assisted and Independent Living stays. We coordinate with the Hospitalists and Specialist physicians and surgeons, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies, Case Management and Psychiatry at the facility level to provide compassionate and coordinated care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients, including obtaining a history of present illness, reviewing medical and psychiatric records, and performing a physical and mental status examination.
- Diagnose and treat patients with a variety of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.
- Prescribe and manage medications
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy as needed
- Educate patients and families about mental health disorders and treatment options.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and case managers.
- Document patient care in the medical record and and coding of patient care to ensure compliance with medical reporting standards and billing practices so as to meet applicable federal and state requirements
- Meet quality measures in the provision of medical care

- Requires ability to work independently, understand complex situations, and make sound judgments.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- National certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Clinical experience in psychiatry is preferred.
- Experience in post-acute care setting is preferred.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation and Benefits:

- Base Compensation $100,000-120,000
