Job Overview – Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Locums):
Join our client’s dedicated team as a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Brooklyn, NY. In this flexible locum tenens role, you’ll provide high-quality psychiatric care, including evaluations, medication management, and collaborative care, to support clients’ mental and physical health. This part-time role involves working within a dynamic interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of a diverse client population.

Compensation: $100/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: 2 days/week, flexible shifts


Responsibilities as the Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Locums):
  • Clinical Care: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe medications, and educate clients on treatment plans.
  • Medication Management: Adjust medication regimens, including MAT and injectables, while monitoring client health metrics.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, interventions, and progress notes per regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Education and Engagement: Facilitate programs on medication, wellness, and symptom management for clients.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises promptly and provide appropriate care and referrals.
Qualifications for the Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Locums):
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
  • Licensure: Valid New York State Nurse Practitioner License and Current Registration.
  • Certification: CPR (BLS), First Aid, DEA registration, ANCC certification, and NPI number required (must become MAT certified within 3 months of employment).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner, with experience in prescribing suboxone.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer systems, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to assess and de-escalate crises effectively.
  • Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Travel: Flexibility to travel to multiple locations within NYC.
  • Language: Bilingual candidates preferred.
