Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/PMHNP or Physician Assistant Alpharetta, GA
We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide psychiatric
assessments and review medical histories of all newly admitted patients to our outpatient program. You will work with a well-established, board-certified psychiatrist, who functions as our chief medical officer.
Join a growing practice and work with other psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and mental health therapists with a common goal. Full-time, four days per week would be ideal. Would also consider a part-time candidate who would commit to two full days of in-person patient care. Outpatient. No on call requirement. Weekdays only.

Responsibilities:
Provide medical/psych assessment, evaluate and diagnose.
Review medical history with each patient assessed.
Establish diagnosis of medical conditions and complications.
Prioritize medical issues.
Recommend follow-up medical procedures and/or treatments.
Promote evidenced-based care within a healing culture for the outpatient population served and their families.
Perform professional work that requires specialized knowledge of psychiatric mental health.
Develop a nursing assessment tool to reflect the holistic needs of each client with consideration of his/her psychological, physiological, social, ethnic, cultural, educational and spiritual strengths and needs.
Provide clarification of clinical diagnosis.
Recommend treatment options.
Review patients progress.
Order diagnostic tests as appropriate, review results, and adjust treatment accordingly.
Qualifications:
Psych Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, with current state license to practice
Previous Psych experience
Must be able to conduct Psychiatric consultations
Good inter-personal skills
Integrate nursing and medical concepts in planning care for medically complicated psychiatric
patients
PREFERRED:
One (1) year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant
National certification as an Advance Practice Nurse (such as ANCC) or the PA equivalent
Strong medical diagnostic and therapeutic skills in psychiatry practice
completion of an approved adult or psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program
