Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide PRN coverage in a behavioral health setting. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to work in both clinic and inpatient environments, assisting with call rotations and vacation coverage.
Schedule and Coverage Details:
- PRN Availability: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (includes a one-hour unpaid lunch).
- Call Rotation: 1:4, with potential weekend and holiday call requirements.
- Coverage Duration: May include one-week blocks for vacation or specific date coverage.
Practice Setting:
- Environment: Inpatient Behavioral Health and Hospital Consults.
- Average Patients per Day: 10–15.
- Patient Demographics: Ages 8+ (adolescent through geriatric).
- Bed Count: 28 adult beds, 8 adolescent beds.
Responsibilities:
- Perform admission histories and psychiatric assessments.
- Conduct physical examinations and patient rounds.
- Diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions, including mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance-related disorders.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing care in consultation with a psychiatrist.
- Coordinate care, provide addiction education, and manage referrals.
- Handle administrative duties as required.
Additional Details:
- Autonomy: PA will work independently, with a supervising psychiatrist available either in person or via telehealth.
- EMR System: Cerner.
- Credentialing Timeframe: 30–90 days.
Requirements:
- Board Certification – Required.
- Current IA license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) – Required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience – No new graduates accepted.

Compensation Rates (Required for Submission):
- Hourly
- Holiday
- Overtime
- Holiday Overtime
- Call Coverage (weeknight, weekend, and holiday rates)
- Call Back (weekday, weekend, and holiday rates)
- Conversion Fee (with cap)
Important Note:
Applicants must have completed board certification and hold a valid IA license or IMLC eligibility. This role requires demonstrated experience in a behavioral health setting.
