The Psychiatric Stabilization Unit (PSU) is a psychiatric observation unit. PSU Nurse Practitioners (NPs) provide psychiatric emergent assessments in the Emergency Department (ED) and disposition for admission to the inpatient psychiatric units, PSU, or potential discharge from ED. PSU NPs may admit to the observation unit (PSU) and are responsible for the care of patients in that environment. Typical volume ranges from 4 - 8 adult patients. Our need for a Psychiatric NP for PSU coverage is Friday nights 7p-7a, Sunday days 7a-7p and Monday nights from 7p-7a.
