Our client in Oregon is in need of a Permanent Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner!
Job details:
- Full-time
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: As assigned + call
- Weekend requirements: Some weekend extenders
- responsibility of managing mental health problems and coordinating health and wellness programs for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and within the nursing standards of care.
- Adult-only patients
- Acute and acutely chronic mentally ill
- 1 MD + 1 PNP are additional providers on site
- Skills and Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains confidentiality, thinks and acts independently with minimal supervision
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally and with the public
- Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth, and collaborating with others to provide solutions for continued patient quality - Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
- Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs
- Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
- Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects
- Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair
- Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
- Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
- May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
- May require periodic use of personal computer
Job Requirements:
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active OR license or in process at time of submission
- Must have ties to Oregon - i.e. family in the area or has lived in OR at some point
- At least 2 years' experience as 100% Inpatient Psychiatric NP - not including previous experience as RN, training/education, or a mix of Inpatient and Outpatient
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary $160,000 (This represents the rate for an individual with significant experience in this job in a full-time 40 hour per week position)
