Job Description
  • Seeking Per Diem Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners for its 80-bed behavioral health hospital and 26-bed Clinical Stabilization Services located in Brockton, MA.
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are a critical part of a multidisciplinary team and possess unique expertise and a focus on providing quality behavioral health care to acute populations.
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are dedicated team members responsible for assisting a variety of patients by evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development and implementation of treatment plans. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to take care of the mental, emotional or behavioral disorders for patients engaged in services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic interventions
  • Provide treatment either independently or with physician supervision in accordance with Massachusetts regulations
  • Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists to assess and adjust treatment plans
  • Coordinate and communicate with case managers, family members and other stakeholders regarding treatment and care
  • Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees
  • Participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Masters Degree from a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-recognized national accreditation body
  • Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or five years of experience in Nursing preferred but candidates who have a strong interest in working with patients who come from underserved populations are encouraged to apply

Licensure:
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Current valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or eligibility
  • Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver Certification
