Director of Behavioral Health Services - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Location: Harrisburg, PA Area

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team as the Director of Behavioral Health Services near Harrisburg, PA. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, LCSWs, Psychologists, and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to manage and support the mission of our behavioral health team. This is a unique opportunity offering a blend of clinical practice (80%) and managerial responsibilities (20%). The ideal candidate will have at least five years of clinical experience as a PMHNP and two years of supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric and mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the behavioral health department, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in program development, policy development, and strategic planning activities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of behavioral health services.
  • Serve as a liaison between the behavioral health team and other departments within the organization, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, patient satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards, implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in psychiatric and mental health care, incorporating evidence-based interventions into clinical practice and program development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
  • Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a PMHNP, with a focus on providing psychiatric and mental health care to diverse patient populations.
  • Two years of supervisory or managerial experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate clinical staff to achieve excellence in patient care and service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
