Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Pismo Beach, CA

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the Physician to provide direct care to patients in both our office locations. The NP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing foot and ankle conditions and supporting patient care before and after procedures/surgery. We are looking for someone compassionate, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and can work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessments: You'll be responsible for conducting thorough patient assessments, which include taking detailed medical histories and performing physical exams to understand their condition.
  • Diagnosing and Treating Conditions: Under the supervision of the podiatrist, you'll help diagnose and treat foot and ankle problems, ensuring patients get the care they need.
  • Diagnostic Testing: You'll order and interpret tests like X-rays, MRIs, and lab work to help diagnose conditions and guide treatment decisions.
  • Treatment Plans and Patient Education: You'll develop personalized treatment plans for patients, which could include wound care, medication management, and education about how to take care of their feet and prevent further issues.
  • Pre and Postoperative Care: You'll assist in caring for patients before and after surgery, ensuring they're prepared for the procedure and helping them recover properly afterward.
  • Patient Education: You'll educate patients on preventing injuries, choosing proper footwear, and caring for their skin to maintain healthy feet.
  • In-Office Procedures: You'll perform various in-office procedures to treat foot and ankle issues.
  • Hospital Rounding: If needed, you'll visit on-call patients in local hospitals to provide care and follow-up treatment.
  • Option to Assist in Surgery: There's also an option for you to assist in surgeries, gaining more hands-on experience in the operating room.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • CA licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prior experience in podiatry or orthopedics is (preferred).
