We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our renowned Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team in Sacramento, CA. In this vital role, you will provide specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill children, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients in the PICU, including detailed histories and physical examinations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized care plans for critically ill children, collaborating closely with pediatric intensivists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide advanced clinical care, including medication administration, fluid management, and monitoring of vital signs and laboratory results.
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed, such as intubations, central line placements, and chest tube insertions.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making timely adjustments to care plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based practices.
  • Educate patients’ families about their child’s condition, treatment options, and ongoing care needs, providing emotional support throughout the process.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active NP license in the state of California
  • 1 to 2 years of PICU experience (preferred)
  • Active DEA
