We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner for our Critical Care Division to function within the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU). With demonstrated nursing expertise in pediatric cardiovascular intensive care, the Nurse Practitioner will function in an advanced practitioner role as a clinical expert in the management of pediatric cardiac intensive care patients within a family-centered care environment.

Under the direction of the attending CVICU attending and practicing within developed standardized procedures and process protocols, the Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose and treat cardiac medical patients as well as pre- and post-operative/catheterization cardiac patients. Central to the role, the Nurse Practitioner will assist in developing and implementing plans of care for all patients in the CVICU. The Nurse Practitioner functions in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary cardiac team, while also providing consultation and education to patients and their families.

The successful candidate will be a California licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of bedside nursing experience in direct pediatric cardiovascular intensive patient care. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills. At least one year of clinical pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience is desired, but not mandatory.
