About this role:

As an Advanced Practice Provider working in pediatrics, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing affordable quality care and excellent patient experience. You will be joining an outpatient pediatric team that includes 11 pediatricians and 6 APPs that work together to provide pediatric care to patients in their communities: Saint George, Sunset, Hurricane, and Washington Fields. In this role, you will provide support in both primary care and acute care at our Sunset location, including one night a week and one weekend a month at our after-hours location. When covering day shifts, you’ll handle same-day acute care overflow, including coughs, colds, congestion, and sore throats, as well as primary care overflow such as well-child exams and mental health consults. The ideal candidate will have pediatric experience in both primary and acute care, excellent bedside manner, strong communication skills, and be a team player who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment.

  • You will practice at Sunset Family Medicine Clinic in St. George, Utah
  • Your schedule will be three days Monday-Friday, one weeknight per week from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm, and one weekend per month from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm.
  • Call rotation is one full week every 16 weeks on average
  • This position includes relocation assistance (if applicable)
  • Recent graduates who are board certified in pediatrics or with extensive training in pediatrics are encouraged to apply

Requirements of this role.

  • Unrestricted Utah NP or PA license
  • Current Utah DEA certificate required prior to start date
  • Current BLS and PALS for healthcare providers
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a pediatric setting such as pediatric inpatient unit, pediatric emergency medicine, Mom & Baby, outpatient pediatric clinic or NICU

Preferences of this role.

  • Board certification in Pediatric Primary Care or Pediatric Acute Care

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$54.84 - $84.63
