UPMC Children and Teen’s Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric or Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our provider team in Harrisburg. The ideal candidate will provide primary pediatric care to children, from newborns through adolescents, with an emphasis on preventative care, health education, and chronic disease management. As part of a mission-driven organization, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality healthcare to vulnerable populations with limited access to medical services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to pediatric patients, including physical exams, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive and patient-centered care to diverse populations.
  • Develop individualized care plans for patients and coordinate with families, specialists, and support staff.
  • Provide patient and family education on wellness, disease prevention, and management of pediatric health conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and social workers.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in pediatric healthcare and community health needs.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing with specialization as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner (PNP/FNP).
  • Board Certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner (PNP/FP-BC or PPCNP/FP-BC).
  • Current and unrestricted state license to practice as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in pediatrics, ideally in underserved or community health settings, preferred
  • BLS and PALS certification required.
  • Strong understanding of social determinants of health and how they affect pediatric populations.
  • Excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for serving underserved communities and improving pediatric health outcomes.
