Pediatric Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner Opportunity in Sacramento, CA

Position: Full-Time Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Sacramento, CA. The NP will assess and care for patients within the designated service, perform physical examinations, consult with patients, and collaborate with department colleagues to ensure smooth patient care. The NP reports to the Chief of the designated service and the Department Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct age-appropriate patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and other clinicians to ensure effective patient care.
  • Review medical records and order diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with healthcare providers and departments for continuity of care.
  • Establish effective working relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for professional practice, including participation in staff development and performance improvement activities.
  • Apply safety principles and perform efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Utilize computers and telecommunication modalities to document and convey information.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience as an NP providing care for endocrine conditions within the past three (3) years.
  • Specialized training in endocrinology.
  • Experience in Pediatrics caring for Type 1 diabetes patients.
  • Experience with insulin pumps and CGMS software for diabetes management.
  • Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) required.

  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California)
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California)
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Nurse Practitioner National Certificate
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly compensation: $91.72 – $108.95
