Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our client’s team. The NP will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with pain conditions, focusing on minimally invasive procedures such as steroid injections, joint injections, and other interventional techniques. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, healthcare professionals, and support staff to provide holistic care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with chronic and acute pain conditions.
- Review medical histories, perform physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop differential diagnoses and formulate treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Perform a variety of minimally invasive procedures, including but not limited to:
- Steroid Injections: Administer corticosteroid injections to alleviate inflammation and pain in joints and soft tissues.
- Joint Injections: Perform injections into joints such as the knee, shoulder, and hip to relieve pain and improve mobility.
- Trigger Point Injections: Administer injections to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points.
- Nerve Blocks: Conduct nerve block procedures to manage chronic pain conditions.
- Other Interventions: Perform additional minimally invasive pain management procedures as appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to sterile techniques and procedural protocols to minimize risks and complications.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans, incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments, adjust care plans as necessary, and provide follow-up care.
- Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, procedural details, and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate communication and continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, procedures, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and best practices in pain management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Stay current with advances in pain management, minimally invasive procedures, and relevant medical research.
- Attend continuing education programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Mentor and provide education to nursing staff and other healthcare team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in NJ.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on pain management or related fields.
- Experience in performing minimally invasive procedures is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in performing minimally invasive pain management procedures.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
Please note- The annual base salary range is $120k to $175k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
