Seeking Pre-anesthesia Clinic NP
Nurse Practitioners in our pre-anesthesia clinic play a vital role in optimizing patient health before surgery. Their primary duties include:
• Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conducting thorough medical histories, performing physical examinations, and identifying potential risks associated with surgery or procedure and anesthesia.
• Pre-operative Evaluations: Assessing patients’ overall health status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological systems.
• Diagnostic Testing: Ordering and interpreting relevant diagnostic tests, such as blood work, EKGs, and imaging studies.
• Risk Stratification: Categorizing patients based on their surgical or procedural anesthesia risks to ensure appropriate pre-operative management.
• Healthcare Efficacy: Working efficiently, timely, and safely so patients have their surgery or procedure in a timely manner and improve their health, well-being, and satisfaction.
• Treatment Planning: Developing individualized pre-operative plans, which may include medication adjustments, consultations with other specialists, and patient education.
• Patient Education: Providing clear and concise information to patients and their families regarding surgical and procedural anesthesia options.
• Collaboration: Working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, registered nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Minimum two (2) years experience preferred
