We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Orthopedic Surgery for a long-term locum tenens position. The APP will provide inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care, including clinic visits, hospital rounds, surgical first-assisting, and call coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Conduct orthopedic patient evaluations and develop treatment plans.
✔ Assist in orthopedic surgical procedures.
✔ Manage post-operative patient care, including rounds and follow-ups.
✔ Provide call coverage (5 PM - 8 AM & weekends on rotation, 1:2 call ratio, 30-minute response time).
✔ Collaborate with attending orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
✔ Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and communication.
✔ Admit and discharge patients as required.

Qualifications

📌 Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
📌 Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
📌 Licensure: Must hold an active Georgia medical license.
📌 Certifications Required: ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support).
📌 Experience: Minimum 1 year of orthopedic surgery experience preferred.
📌 Credentialing Timeline: 60 days (expedited privileges available for clean providers).

Working Hours

🩺 Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (1-hour lunch).
🩺 Call: 5 PM - 8 AM on rotation, including weekends.
🩺 Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (Monday - Sunday rotation).

Skills

✔ Proficiency in orthopedic surgical first-assisting.
✔ Strong clinical judgment and ability to work autonomously.
✔ Experience in inpatient & outpatient orthopedic care.
✔ Ability to handle emergency orthopedic cases and trauma situations.
✔ Excellent communication & teamwork skills.
✔ EMR experience with Epic is preferred.
