A healthcare organization in Georgia is seeking three experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners for locum tenens assignments to provide weekday orthopedic clinic support. Local providers are preferred, but travel and lodging are provided for non-local candidates. Responsibilities include patient evaluations, follow-ups, and basic orthopedic procedures across 1-2 assigned locations with potential floating as needed.

Assignment Details:

  • Start Date: December 1, 2024
  • End Date: March 31, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 19 patients per day
  • Holiday Closure: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

Compensation and Travel:

  • Hourly Rate: Competitive, based on experience
  • Local Providers Preferred
  • Non-Local Providers:
    • Flight: $800 round-trip within the Continental US (includes taxes and fees)
    • Lodging: $200 per night (includes taxes and fees; pre-approval required for Airbnb)
    • Car Rental: $75/day cap
    • Mileage: Reimbursement for travel over 50 miles (MapQuest verification required)

Job Responsibilities

Provide outpatient orthopedic care, supporting orthopedic services.
Conduct patient evaluations, follow-ups, and basic orthopedic procedures within the scope of practice.
Coordinate care with the orthopedic team and other specialties as needed.

Qualifications

Licensure: Valid licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Georgia.
Certification: Certification in Orthopedic Surgery or Advanced Practice Provider credentials.
Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of orthopedic experience in a clinical setting, but open to candidates with relevant experience in related fields.
Education: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Nursing, or related field.
EMR Proficiency: Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems.

Working Hours

Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Duration: December 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025 (Locum Tenens assignment)
Holiday Coverage: Closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
