Job Title: Oncology Advanced Practice Provider - Acute Care
Specialty: Oncology – 4325
Start Date: May 6th, 2024
Contract Length: 26 Weeks (6 Months)
Shift Details:
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 3 shifts a week (12-hour shifts)
- Nights: 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM; 3 shifts a week (13-hour shifts)
- Must be able to work some weekends
Work Details:
- Support Staff: To be determined
- Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: 3 shifts per week (Day or night)
- Patients per Day: To be determined
- Patient Population/Age: Adults
- Department Description: Oncology
- EMR: EPIC
- Hospital Bed Size: 943
- Skills Required:
- Experience working inpatient oncology
- Clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities
- Responsible for health outcomes of an assigned patient population
- Confer with collaborating physician and other health professionals
- Develop appropriate educational systems for patients, families, and staff
- Actively participate in quality improvement and/or research
- Conduct comprehensive appraisals of patients' health status
- Provide direct clinical care to patients
- Prescribe/orders medications, therapies; orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays, and procedures
- Evaluate patients to determine their need for further health care
- Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families
- Refer to other disciplines as appropriate
- Integrates research-based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision making
- Exemplifies a professional image in appearance, manner, and presentation
- Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community
- Maintain certifications and continuing education as required for licensure and privileging
- Participate in unit/departmental/divisional or hospital committees/task forces as appropriate
- Provides comprehensive teaching strategies for patients and their families
- Develops and participates in programs to meet continuing education needs of staff
- Serve as a role model and preceptor to students
- Provides formal education to both internal and external groups pertinent to the area of specialty

- Certifications Preferred: ACLS
- Certifications Required: BLS
- Minimum Experience Required: 1 year
