Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join practice as an Advanced Practice Provider.

Position Overview

Providedirect patient care, including evaluating and examining new patients, manage patients who are undergoing treatment, and monitorpatients after treatment is complete.

Essential Job Functions

  • Contributes to physicians effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
  • Provides information and commentary to the care team that is pertinent to clinical deliberations.
  • Recommends options and courses of action.
  • Implements physician directives.
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing treatment regimens.
  • Orders diagnostic tests, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
  • Prescribes and refills medications and oncology treatments.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Rounds on patients in the hospital.
  • Performs bone marrow biopsies as trained and declared competent.
  • Manages chemotherapy and immune therapy toxicities.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Participates in advanced care planning.
  • General management of primary care issues related to hematology/oncology.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of clinical experience
  • National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP or PA-C
  • Current DEA license
  • Strong technical/computer skills and EMR experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology experience
