POSITION: OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner
RESPONSIBILITIES: The OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner provides health care services to women from adolescence through childbearing to advanced age; is under the supervision and reports directly to the supervising licensed physician. The Nurse Practitioner assumes principle responsibility, functioning with approved protocols for health maintenance and clinical management of acute and chronically ill patients. Identifies the health status of patients by taking medical histories, performing examinations and initiating and evaluating screening and diagnostic procedures. Initiates appropriate therapeutic intervention based upon assessment and evaluation of the health status of the individual. Determines which cases to refer to the licensed physician for further diagnosis and treatment; serves as clinical consultant to nursing and paramedical personnel; and coordinates work activities with families, community agencies and other members of the health. The Nurse Practitioner is a member of the patient’s care team and is involved in the coordination of patient care. Participates in annual training's, such as: CME and the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Mature judgement, tact, discretion and confidentiality are mandatory. Requires a professional, pleasant and effective representation of the corporation. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California driver’s license. Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test, fitness for duty, criminal background and credentialing clearance as a precondition for employment. Must be able to provide proof vaccinations for: COVID-19 with Booster, MMR, TDAP and Hepatitis B. Must provide recent TB test. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a certified Licensed Nurse Practitioner. An RN with at least a Master’s Degree in Nursing and advanced education in primary care.
