A health services organization in Pennsylvania is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing Perinatal Newborn Unit at a hospital in Philadelphia.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Shifts: 8 to 16 hours per shift
- Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Patient Volume: 15 to 20 newborn infants daily
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to newborn infants in a Perinatal Newborn Unit
- Perform newborn evaluations, medical assessments, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with Physicians, Pediatric Residents, and the Healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in Cerner EMR for inpatient and outpatient units
- Perform procedures within the NP scope of practice, including but not limited to newborn resuscitation, stabilization, and monitoring
- Participate in daily rounds and communicate effectively with families regarding patient care
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Pediatric or Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner
- Experience working in a Perinatal Newborn Unit
- Demonstrated competency in Neonatal Evaluation and Management
- Proficiency in Newborn Resuscitation and Stabilization
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork
