We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to work in our Nephrology role in Montebello, CA. This location provides high-quality primary, acute, and specialty healthcare services to patients in various settings, including clinics, virtual platforms, or home visits. This position may also offer occasional support to the Downey, CA location as well.
The Nurse Practitioner Specialty is responsible for providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with a physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment therapies and/or evaluation. Performs care in the specialty area of nephrology and patients on dialysis.
How will you make an impact:
- Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.
- Acts independently to perform physical assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.
- Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients clinical problems and health care needs.
- Discusses case with physician.
- Formulates and documents care plan.
- Prescribes medication, therapies and/or other forms of treatment.
- Evaluates the patient’s response to therapy.
Compensation & Benefits: $132,756 - $199,134, plus excellent benefits package.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Current, unrestricted RN license and NP license in the state of California is required.
- Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in the specialty area of nephrology.
- Completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Active Nurse Practitioner Board Certification
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Experience in either Primary Care or an Internal Medicine setting with adults and geriatric patient population.
