  • The client is Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi, but the NP will be working at the Level 3 NICU at Corpus Christi Medical Center. [Register to View] There is a nearby children's hospital, Driscoll Children's Hospital that has a Level 4 NICU and sicker babies are transferred to as needed. The hospitals work closely and extremely well together.
  • Schedule is six 24-hour shifts per month. They are VERY flexible with how these shifts are worked throughout the month, spread out or close together, no specific weekend requirements, etc. The medical director Dr. Deleon does not recommend 48 hour shifts as they can be unpredictable but will consider them.
  • The NP will be rounding in the NICU.( 35 Bed) They do not have to attend the c-sections, preemie deliveries, or round in the nursery. Those responsibilities are covered by the physicians.
  • 1+ years of NICU experience is acceptable. They need experience in intubations, catheterizations, and have their NRP.
  • Census is unpredictable, some days as few as 5 babies in the NICU, other days 20.
