- Other Details: The Locum Neonatologist will provide care for neonates in a Level III NICU, attending C-sections, covering the well-baby nursery, and supervising RNs and ancillary staff. Responsibilities include managing neonatal ventilation (ETT, BiPAP, CPAP), performing procedures such as UAC/UVC placement, chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, central and arterial line insertions, and evaluating acute volume/blood pressure issues. The NP/PA must work independently, manage patients with minimal supervision, and document care using EPIC EMR. Strong procedural skills, experience in neonatal critical care, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team are essential. Transfers are managed by a nearby Level IV NICU, and no transport duties are required.

Job Responsibilities
- Supervise RNs and ancillary staff in the NICU as needed.
- Manage ventilation, including invasive (ETT) and non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP) techniques.
- Perform neonatal procedures such as chest tube insertion, exchange transfusions, UAC/UVC placement, lumbar punctures, central and arterial line insertions, and diagnostic/therapeutic taps.
- Evaluate and manage acute volume/blood pressure issues in neonates.
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and patient management.
- Collaborate with the team of neonatologists, pediatric mid-levels, and NICU staff to ensure high-quality neonatal care.
- Ensure smooth coordination with the regional Level IV NICU for transfers when necessary.
