This organization is a physician-owned medical practice specializing in the care of expectant mothers and newborns. They were founded in 2016 by a small group of neonatologists and have grown to more than 100 providers serving patients in multiple states. Their team of board certified specialists stand by the core ethic that medicine should be the delivery of consistent, continuous care for mothers, babies, and their families. The practice combines a national infrastructure with local support, using their breadth and depth of clinical and operational resources to allow their providers to spend more time on delivering high-quality care.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new neonatal nurse practitioner will be employed by a private practice that is contracted to provide neonatology services at the hospital. They will work with a team of other providers from the practice, also collaborating with the hospital staff and medical directors.
The schedule is coordinated collaboratively among all the providers, with the option to bundle shifts if preferred.
The hospital is highly regarded for its commitment to women’s and children’s health. It boasts a 21-bed Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that provides comprehensive care for newborns of all gestational ages, from premature infants to full-term babies requiring critical support. The NICU is equipped with whole-body cooling therapy and other cutting-edge treatments, ensuring the best outcomes for the most vulnerable patients.
Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- delivery attendance
- day-to-day management of NICU
- participate in multi-disciplinary rounds
- provide collaborative, team-based care of NICU patients
- ventilator management
- cooling therapies
- nutrition management
- lab review
- meeting with families
- newborn nursery coverage
The hospital uses an EHR and clinical assistants are available to assist providers in all situations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Texas NP license
- neonatal certification
- experience preferred; not required
