Job Description:

  • Quick start is highly preferred.
  • Facility designated as Trauma Level I
  • Open to experienced NNPs and newly graduated NNPs with 3+ years of Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience as an RN and/or NP. May also consider Family, Adult, Pediatric, PMHNP, or Women's Health NPs who have the 3+ years of Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience. This is a very busy, high-level facility, and providers must be able to jump in on day one.
  • Candidates must reside within 1.5 hours of the facility. Relocation may be required (to be discussed at interview).
  • 12- and 24-hour shifts managing 8-10 patients per day shift and 20-30 patients per night shift
  • Perform procedures and attend high-risk deliveries
  • Night shift covers unit with support from 3-4 NNPs, Resident, Fellow, and Neonatologist
  • 72 weekend hours required in a 6-week schedule, with Friday nights through 7:00 am Monday morning included
  • Inpatient rounds as practice setting
  • Coverage needed due to staffing shortage
  • APRN with authorization to practice in Family, Adult, Pediatric, Neonatal, Psychiatric Mental Health, or Women's Health required
  • EMR documentation system: EPIC

Qualifications

Board Eligible/Board Certified NNP - REQUIRED
3+ years of Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience, including work as RN and/or NNP - REQUIRED
TX license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
BLS, NRP (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
Clean malpractice and license history - REQUIRED
COVID-vaccinated - REQUIRED

Working Hours

Shift Type: Rotating
Shift(s) Description: 12- and 24-hour roles will see 8-10 patients, do procedures, attend high risk deliveries. At night cover unit with 3-4 NNP, Resident, Fellow and Neonatologist.

Weekend Requirements: 72 hours of weekends in a 6-week schedule where Friday nights are included and last until 07:00 Monday morning
