We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at a leading academic medical center in Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality care for neonates in a Level 4 NICU setting, with opportunities to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment alongside attending physicians, fellows, and residents.

Job Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of 15-20 neonatal patients during 12-hour shifts.
Provide care for high-risk deliveries, including newborn resuscitation and stabilization for all gestational ages.
Perform required procedures, including umbilical line placement, central and arterial line placement, intubation, newborn resuscitation, lumbar puncture, and chest tube placement.
Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other team members in a large academic setting.
Provide care in step-down units but not in well-baby units at this time.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
Active Illinois state license required.
DEA license required.
CSR license required.
PALS certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in neonatal care.
Must be competent and confident in managing high-risk deliveries and Level 4 NICU care.

Working Hours

Willingness to work nights, 24-hour shifts, and weekends.
Estimated 10 shifts per month.

Skills

Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
Competence in performing advanced neonatal procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
