  • This Level 1 unit will have an anticipated 600 deliveries a year
  • An average daily census of about 5 newborns
  • NNPs will be responsible for daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries when requested and will take call from home
  • Practitioners would also stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care
    - Opportunities to do supplemental PRN shifts at the level III NICU in Gastonia may be possible; but would not be required, as this position is for the Level 1 nursery.

Qualifications

Master's Degree and/or Doctorate in Nursing - REQUIRED
Current APRN National Specialty Certification - Board Certified NNP (cannot accept FNP, PNP, or any other NP certifications) - REQUIRED
NC license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED
Current 2+ years of employment experience as NNP (not including RN experience) - REQUIRED

Working Hours

24-hour shifts:  rounding on newborns in-house during the day and then take call from home
