A leading healthcare facility in Yakima, Washington, is seeking a skilled Pediatric or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide locum tenens coverage in their Mother/Baby unit. This temporary role is to cover a maternity leave from January 27, 2025, through May 26, 2025. The assignment involves newborn examinations and rounding in a Family Birthplace unit with a 26-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setup and a Level III NICU. You will work as part of the Mother/Baby team and have support from a Pediatric Hospitalist for consultations.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: January 27, 2025
- End Date: May 26, 2025
- Schedule: Thursday - Sunday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Volume: 12-20 patient visits per day, depending on newborn census
- Holiday Coverage: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Compensation and Travel
- Hourly Rate: $110 - $120 per hour
- Lodging: Up to $150 per night
- Airfare: Roundtrip airfare covered up to $600, with one checked bag fee
- Rental Car or Mileage Reimbursement: Provided based on assignment details

Job Responsibilities
Manage care for newborns returning to the hospital’s lactation clinic, coordinating with the Mother/Baby team.
Collaborate with a Pediatric Hospitalist, available for support and consults as needed.
Document patient care accurately within the Epic EMR system.
Provide compassionate, high-quality care for newborns and infants in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Qualifications
Active Washington State medical license.
Experience in newborn exams and rounding in an inpatient setting.
Proficiency with Epic EMR is preferred.
