Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join the dedicated healthcare team in Vail, AZ. This role is crucial in delivering top-notch neonatal care within the NICU and supporting high-risk deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-house neonatal care 24/7, with the Neonatologist available in-house from 8 AM to 5 PM and on call overnight.

• Cover NICU and attend high-risk deliveries, ensuring the highest standards of care.

• Assist with the newborn nursery if the baby has already been seen.

• Neonatologists will assess nursery babies within the first 24 hours of life, while NNPs will manage ongoing care through to discharge.

• Requires experienced NNPs comfortable with independent in-house shifts.

Shift Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 4 PM to 8 AM (16 hours)

• Saturday - Sunday: 2 PM to 8 AM (18 hours)

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certification is a must.

• Must possess an Arizona license and DEA prior to submission for name clear.

• Must have a clean background and malpractice history.

• Required to submit EPA and NPDB with the presentation.

Certification Requirements:

• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Board Certified

• DEA

• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

• National Provider Identifier (NPI)

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

State License Requirements:

• Must hold a valid Arizona license.

Additional License Requirements:

• NNP Certification with relevant experience.

About the Facility:

• 15-bed NICU/Newborn unit.

• Average daily census: 6 in the nursery, 6.5 in the NICU.

• Annual births: 1800.

• C-Section rate: 30%.

• Level: Level IIEQ.

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner, PremiEHR, TPN.
