Schedule: Full-time only, 3x12-hour shifts per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Work Details:

  • Support Staff: Physicians, Surgeons, APP colleagues, and other administrative staff
  • Coverage Needed: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • Patients per Day: TBD
  • Patient Population/Age: Neonatals; patients from birth to 1 year old
  • Department Description: ICN (Intensive Care Nursery), caring for newborns needing surgery for heart, lung, gastrointestinal, and other life-threatening conditions
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Hospital Bed Size: 58 beds

Skills Required:

  • Role: NP/PA will act as a member of the care team, taking primary responsibility for the safe delivery of care for inpatient newborns and infants.
  • Setting: 58-bed Level IV Newborn ICU, caring for infants from birth to 1 year of age (excluding ECMO patients, though may handle them until and immediately after ECMO).
  • Responsibilities: Meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated.

  • Type: Hospital

Requirements:

  • Board Certification: Required in Neonatal Care
  • State License: Active State of CA License required
  • DEA: Required
  • CSR: Not required
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP. If NP, must have Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC). If PA, must have Masters in PA Studies or Masters in Medical Science.
  • CMS Enrollment: Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of neonatal/pediatric experience required
  • Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
