Seeking an experienced neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) to join the hospital’s newly-launched neonatology service line, providing vital services to the region.
The NNP will round on newborns in the hospital alongside an experienced neonatologist. Average daily census is up to 4 newborns in the Level II Nursery/NICU and approximately 4 on Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby Unit. The position is inpatient-only, days, Monday through Friday. The NNP will share call.
Facility is an acute care hospital with multiple neonatal and pediatric support services including childbirth education classes and breastfeeding support with International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Pediatric physical and speech therapists perform feeding assessments, provide positioning and sensory input support, and are trained in treating ankyloglossia, cleft palate, and other feeding-inhibiting conditions. The Level II Nursery/NICU team includes respiratory therapists who have achieved the Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification. The Level II Nursery/NICU is located inside the hospital in the family birthing center which recently underwent a $6 million renovation.
