Locum - Internal Medicine - NP

Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join our dedicated team in Houston, Missouri, where we seek General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support our nation's veterans while working in a pleasant and supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
• Perform evaluations primarily through interviews along with physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Manage exams in compliance with established guidelines and submit evaluations through a dedicated provider portal.
• Perform follow-up administrative tasks as required, such as addendums and medical opinions.
• Train for Reporting and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and submit completed forms within 48 hours of the exam.
• Utilize a Goniometer and demonstrate proficiency in assessing musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory conditions.
• Attend a 2-hour training session before conducting first Veteran cases.
• Maintain records and documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri.
• Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
• Proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Must possess a personal laptop (No Mac/Apple products).
• Willingness to complete DMA training to become DMA certified.
• Current CV with home address for presentation.
• Experience in General Medicine or related fields preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Missouri.
• Current AANP certification.
• DMA certification must be obtained upon being privileged if not already certified.
