Locum - Internal Medicine - NP

Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join our dynamic team as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine! We are seeking a skilled NP to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, making a significant impact on the lives of our nation's veterans.

This position offers flexibility to work either from your own office or in our leased facilities. The practice focuses on evaluation and assessment, with a compassionate approach to serving veterans. Located in Houston, Nebraska, this area is rich in community spirit and boasts a welcoming atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments
• Perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength tests
• Submit standardized forms via VES’s provider portal within 48 hours post-exam
• Complete necessary administrative tasks such as addendums and medical opinions
• Collaborate on follow-up evaluations and diagnostics reviews as required
• Participate in training programs, including DMA certification

Qualifications:

• Proficient in METs testing and evaluation of respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
• Previous experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medicine preferred
• Must possess a Board Certification
• Active and unrestricted nursing license in Nebraska
• Must have a personal laptop (no Mac/Apple products)
• Willingness to complete DMA training to become certified

License and Certification Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted nursing license in Nebraska
• Board Certification from a recognized body (AANP preferred)
• Completion of DMA training is required prior to starting
