Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine

Join a dedicated team in New Mexico! We are seeking General Medicine Nurse Practitioners to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in a supportive environment focused on serving our nation's veterans.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
• Conduct primarily interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Ensure all evaluations are completed and submitted within 48 hours of exam completion, using standardized forms.
• Review medical records as necessary and perform follow-up administrative work, including addendums and medical opinions.
• Collaborate as needed with the scheduling team and provide timely reporting on assessments.
• Possibility to either travel to assigned VES leased facilities or schedule veterans within your own practice.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
• Hold an active and unrestricted full license in New Mexico.
• Possess a laptop (non-Mac) for documentation and reporting.
• Must be willing to complete DMA training to achieve DMA certification.
• Current CV must reflect home address for presentation.
• Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medicine preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

• AANP Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
• Current active and unrestricted license in New Mexico.
• DMA certification will be required for continued practice.
