We are seeking a patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider to join our Acute Care Team in the IU Health South Central Region!

Team Lead Duties:

  • Work with Medical Director and SLA to ensure APPs are working towards common departmental goals including focus on promise dashboard goals
  • Serve as the direct report for APPs in each department
  • Create/manage APP schedules for the department including approving CME and PTO
  • Manage/create/implement departmental protocols for APP’s
  • Plan/Attend APP Meetings
  • Attend APEC
  • Help to coordinate coverage when an APP is out
  • Oversight of onboarding/orientation for the APP, mentor new providers, ensure orientation process is being followed
  • Participate in APP recruitment and retention initiatives including wellness initiatives
  • Participate in disciplinary actions using just culture algorithms in conjunction with APP manager and APP director (when applicable)

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, AGNP, FNP, NNP, PMHNP or PA certification required
  • 2 years' experience required
  • Provider must have knowledge of the inpatient process starting from the Emergency department through discharge from the hospital setting
  • Strong critical thinking skills, are a team player, and a great communicator/collaborator.

Hospital Overview

The new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and Regional Academic Health Center opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.

At the same time, the facility strengthens healthcare education by providing space for collaboration and coordination of care and teaching. Students and trainees frequently come to the hospital side of the facility for clinical experiences.
