Job Overview:
A healthcare facility in Antigo, WI, is seeking two Advanced Practice Clinicians (NP/PA) with a background in hospital medicine to join its Open ICU team. The selected candidates will collaborate with a physician to provide high-quality care to hospitalized patients. This role includes admissions, rounding, and ongoing management of both ICU and general hospital patients.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a physician to manage hospitalized patients in the Open ICU setting.
- Perform 2-3 admissions per shift and round on 7-9 patients daily.
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for hospitalized patients, including those in critical care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results.
- Manage ventilators, drips, and other critical interventions (based on scope and experience).
- Perform bedside procedures (if applicable and within scope of practice).
Qualifications:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of Wisconsin.
- Hospitalist, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Acute Care, or Emergency Medicine experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in an Open ICU or inpatient setting is highly desirable.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to work independently under physician support.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and managing hospitalized patients in an Open ICU setting.
Schedule:

- 7 on, 7 off schedule (Tuesday through Monday).
- 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM shift.
- First week: Tuesday, May 13 – Monday, May 19 (coverage for 7 days).
- Alternating weekly thereafter.
- Exception: Coverage requested for July 1 – July 7.
