Overview:
Join the hospitalist team at Jeanes Hospital, a community-based acute care facility within Temple University Health System. Located in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, Jeanes Hospital offers a collaborative and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population. This is a night shift role, including night rounding duties, and offers flexible scheduling with 15 shifts per month.
Jeanes Hospital is known for its advanced medical services, including specialties like heart and vascular care, bariatric surgery, neurology, and orthopedics. As an APP, you'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring excellent patient outcomes during your night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Night Rounding: Provide overnight care and monitoring of hospitalized patients, ensuring timely interventions and patient safety.
- Patient Assessment: Perform physical exams, assess patient conditions, and order necessary diagnostic tests. Provide comprehensive evaluations for patient care management.
- Care Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with attending physicians and specialists to develop patient care plans, making adjustments as needed based on clinical assessments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Family and Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and their families, discussing treatment options, care plans, and discharge instructions.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in EPIC EMR.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based practices. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and hospital processes.
- Flexible Scheduling: Work 15 shifts per month with a 12-hour night shift schedule and flexible hours to promote a balanced lifestyle.
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
- Hospitalist or inpatient care experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to make independent clinical decisions
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Proficient with EPIC EMR (preferred but not required)
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
