Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hospitalist team for a night shift position. The role will be based in a specialty hospital in the Inland Empire/Rancho area. This is a full-time, W2 position with a unique schedule of 7 consecutive night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), followed by 7 days off.

As a Hospitalist NP/PA, you will provide comprehensive care to adult patients hospitalized for various conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage patient care, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting assessments, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and documenting patient information using the Cerner EMR system. You will manage an average patient load of 18-20 patients per shift, and while no call is required, you will be expected to respond to any patient care needs during your shift hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments and history taking
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the attending physician and medical team
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and prescribe medications as necessary
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostic tests, and interpret results
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Document patient encounters and ensure accurate, timely entries in Cerner EMR system
  • Respond to clinical needs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring a high level of care

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in California
  • Board certification (ACNP, FNP, or PA-C)
  • At least 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously with a high level of responsibility
  • Availability for night shifts (7p-7a) on a 7 on / 7 off schedule
