COMPANY PROFILE:
This community health system has been in operation for more than 100 years, providing a robust set of services to the local community in a variety of locations. They are currently seeking nurse practitioners for hospitalist positions in their 105-bed general acute care hospital, which provides both primary care and a full range of secondary level services. The facility also operates a 14-bed intensive care unit and telemetry unit, as well as pediatric beds.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is a standard nocturnist (hospitalist) role, working overnight. The new nurse practitioner will work 12-hour shifts and the hospital is flexible in collaborating on a mutually-agreeable schedule.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- be responsible for a variable numbers of patients per shift
- provide continuous care to hospitalized patients
- order tests and medical procedures
- be supported by dedicated clinical assistants, nurses, etc.
- work with care managers to develop and coordinate discharge needs
- use an EHR
- refer to and collaborate with specialists as needed
- maintain open communication with primary care providers

The details of the hospital include, but are not limited to:

- 105 general acute care beds
- 14-bed ICU and telemetry unit
- dedicated pediatric beds
- full range of diagnostic services

The hospital uses an EHR system and has robust support offerings.


REQUIREMENTS:
- New York NP license
- DEA
- NP board certification, relevant specialty
- 1+ year acute care experience preferred
