Job Description

Last Update: 10/10/24

To our prospective teammates,

I am the national medical director for Sound Telemedicine Post Acute. I have been a part of Sound for over 4 years. I am proud of the post-acute telemedicine practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians and experienced NPs. I would like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:

People
  • We are a closely-knit, established team of 50 providers
  • Our team primarily comes from generalist training (Family, Adult Gero) and can have a diverse set of prior clinical experiences including hospital-based practices, outpatient clinics or post-acute facilities like nursing homes.
  • Our providers are located across the country and can work from home while serving a much-needed population in post-acute facilities like nursing homes to prevent unnecessary ER visits and unnecessary hospitalizations.
  • Many of our providers have a strong interest in the geriatric population, subacute population, complex patient care, value-based care models, and innovation, and have a growth mindset interested in serving an underserved population.
Practice
  • We welcome the challenge of complex patients who are in post-acute care environments like nursing homes and need increased physician engagement cross-coverage model via telemedicine and availability after hours on evenings, nights, and 24/7 on weekends and holidays.
  • We meet monthly as a group for practice changes or group updates.
  • Most of us like to spend time with our families and working from home helps each of the providers in this group meet their personal and professional needs.
  • We offer a flexible schedule that is released in advance so that you can plan your other commitments. We cover for each other when we are out.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound practices, where teammates can expand their careers here locally and within the broader medical group.
  • There is a unique opportunity to participate in innovative growth in a unique telemedicine practice that intersects with the post-acute environment.
  • We are a community-minded team and encourage team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
Requirements
  • NP with 3 years of hospitalist or post-acute/SNF coverage, post-training
  • Certifications in Family, Acute, and Adult Gero accepted
  • Prior experience in Telemedicine is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a desire to learn
  • This model requires multiple state licenses. Specifically, NP licenses from the following states are a plus: CA, FL, NY, MA, CT, MD, VA, NJ, PA, NC, SC. (Due to licensing costs and timeframes top consideration will be given to candidates with multiple of the NP license listed above and the RN Compact.)
  • This is a part-time opportunity (84-100 hours per month) with the ability to increase to full-time (120 hours/month) in the near future.
  • This is a W2 position with benefits, 401K with match, and malpractice with tail coverage included
  • Shifts are overnight and weekend hours
  • Technology protocol, workflow, and EMR training provided
  • Based on 120 hours per month – the yearly compensation range is $95k-$130K plus full benefits, CME allowance, and retirement.
