Position Details:
Role: Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: Dothan, Alabama
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient Palliative Care Services
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive palliative care to patients with chronic and life-limiting illnesses.
Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate symptom management.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Educate patients and families about disease progression, treatment options, and advanced care planning.
Manage pain, emotional distress, and other complex symptoms to improve quality of life.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus on Palliative Care, Hospice, or Geriatrics.
Active Alabama NP license or ability to obtain one.
Prior experience in Palliative Care, Hospice, or Geriatrics preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient-centered care.
