PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:
To evaluate and present potential renal and/or pancreas transplant recipients to the transplant team. Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings and manage waitlisted patients. Will work with transplant team and referring nephrologist and dialysis unit to activate and follow patients on the waiting list. Admit potential transplant recipients into the hospital for transplant, either cadaver or living donor. Evaluate potential living related or unrelated donors for kidney donation. Assist in the operation of post transplant clinic hours.
Shift\hours: 8:30a- 5p, M-F
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Evaluate and present potential renal and/or pancreas transplant recipients and donors
• Activate and follow patients on the transplant waiting list
• Admit potential transplant recipients for transplantation
• Participate in patient education during transplant clinic hours
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital
- Registered Nurse in PA required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Registered nurse, American Board of Transplant Coordinators (ABTC) preferred
- Minimum of three years experience with renal and/or transplant patients
- Strong communications and writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer applications
