An established gastroenterology practice in the Rockville, Maryland area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive outpatient care to patients. Prior experience in gastroenterology or primary care is preferred, but the group is also open to training a motivated candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physicians.
  • Provide patient education regarding gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Perform procedures within the scope of practice
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Adhere to established clinical protocols and practice guidelines to uphold quality standards of care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities and training programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Maryland.
  • Proficiency in performing outpatient procedures and clinical assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong commitment to delivering compassionate patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and clinic priorities.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
